2. Job Title: Stylist and web content
3. What does a regular work day for you involve?
My regular day is so varied; it’s great to have so many different things to do throughout the day. It varies from styling a shoot and working in the studio all day, to loads of products coming in and writing the descriptions for these on the web. Web content has many different aspects to it: loading and describing the lovely products, categorizing, trends, retailing and so on. I also blog every Friday which works brilliantly alongside my role as stylist, clothes have been my passion for as long as I remember so it’s amazing to sit and write about them!
4. What is the best par t of your job?
Like I mentioned above I love working with clothes so the styling side of my job is probably the most enjoyable and our lovely models are fun to work with! I love doing still set ups as well as you can be slightly more creative with that (then writing a behind the scenes blog for all you lovely ladies to read about).
5. What advice would you give someone who aspires to be a stylist/buyer/marketer/designer?
I would say never say never, if you really want something then get your positive attitude on and put the hard work in and it will pay off. I have done both Design and Styling and neither have come without those things. Confidence is also key- if you believe in yourself then so will others!
6. What is your favourite trend at the moment?
I love the pretty pastels trend. The sugary pastel blues, pinks, yellows and mints mixed with super sweet florals are so cute. It reminds me of the 1950’s which is a fashion era I love!
7. What is your must-have item for Summer 2014?
The kimono. It’s a great spring/summer buy as a lightweight cover up in the wind and sun. The bold prints can make a plain outfit look amazing. They can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses- definitely the most versatile buy of the season!
8. Who is your style icon?
Zooey Deschanel! She has such a quirky cute style, and carries it with such confidence!
9. What has been your biggest fashion faux-paux?
When I was about 6 my mum put me and my younger sister in matching white trousers with spice girls t-shirts. I think every girl that age actually thought they were the 6th member of the spice girls when wearing something like that- I know I did!
10. What 3 items would you take with you on a desert island?
My husband- otherwise who would I talk to, and I’m not sure I’d survive on a desert island without him (lets just say he watches a lot of Bear Gyrlls)!
I LOVE music so probably my phone so I could listen to music (until my battery dies).
My pillow! I would need a bit of comfort on a desert Island!!
